DETAILED ITINERARY:

DAY1: HANOI-BACHA WEEKEND MARKET (DEPART FRIDAY ONLY)
Free for your own exploration the city until transfer to Hanoi train station for your overnight train to Lao cai border town.

DAY2: LAOCAI-CANCAU MARKET-BACHA TOWN
Upon arrival. Our driver will pick you up at Lao cai station. Have breakfast en route... The ride is relatively flat from Lao Cai to Bao Nhai, where you will be taken through rural area. Situated in the mountains in border area, 20 km from BAC Ha, Can Cau is a small, but very colorful market. Opening only on Saturdays, it always delivers a very photogenic display of Flower H’mong, Black Zao, Phu La ethnic costumes. Chinese people also come for trading. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, you will leave the market for BAC Ha town for lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a walk to Ban Pho village of Nung and Flower H’mong, which locates in a small valley. The villagers grow vegetables and fruit trees. One of the most famous fruit of the area is plum. Return back our hotel for fresh up before joining dinner in local restarant. Overinght in a Bac Ha Guesthouse. (B, L, D)

DAY3: BACHA-TRUNGDO-COCLY BOATTRIP- SAPA
After having a morning coffee, you take a short walk to visit the old castle of the former H’mong King. From there you can have a view over the town. You will then visit the huge market of BAC Ha with its colorful array of ethnic minority people such as Flower H’mong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay, and Nung who gather to buy and sell. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, your lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After lunch, you drive downhill for about half an hour. You will then start a short walk to Trung Do village, which belongs to the Tay minority. Here you can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea before you get on a boat. You will have a cruise upstream the Chay River to experience the picturesque scenes and the magnificent sight of a beautiful cave. The boat ride ends at Coc Ly Market, where you get on the car for the journey to Sapa town, a former French hill station in early of the 20th century. At very late afternoon will be arrival at sapa. Transfer to hotel for check in procedures, dinner in the downtown. Overnight in hotel (B, L)
DAY4: CATCAT-TAPHIN VILLAGES
After breakfast, we depart our walking tour to visit the colorful market of Sapa; from here it’s all the way down hill for 3km to a black H’mong village of cat and waterfall. after a short relaxing we will ascend the mountains for our 3km of the return trek. lunch at a local restaurant ,after lunch there will be transferred by car for 15km to visit Ta phin  village where inhabited by red zao and black H’mong ethnic minorities. There will be plenty of opportunity for your taking photograph of the breathtaking scenery, rice paddy fields and ethnic people. the trek takes about one hour, then drive back Sapa for fresh up and check out the hotel, transfer back to lao cai train station for the return overnight train journey to Hanoi.(B, L, D)
DAY5: DEPARTURE HANOI
Pick you up at Hanoi railway station, transfer to a restaurant for breakfast while waiting for onward flight, end of services.

++ Travel insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory for all tours. All clients MUST be insured to cover personal accident, medical expenses, cancellation, curtailment and repatriation. It is also very important that your insurance policy is relevant to the Vietnam Pathfinder style of travel. Vietnam Pathfinder offers a specially negotiated insurance policy specifically tailored to adventure travel. As well as providing substantial cover for medical emergency, cancellation and curtailment, personal luggage, money and valuables and legal expenses, this insurance will also provide cover for the adventure activities you may choose to undertake whilst on tour.

No client will be allowed on tours without suitable insurance. If you have already arranged insurance elsewhere, please ensure that you are covered on your policy for any optional activities you may wish to join. If you plan on doing any activities which may not be covered, please purchase additional insurance.

At the start of your tour you will be asked to present your original policy document and complete an insurance information form. We recommend that you have a photocopy of this document, which you keep separate from the original.

Please note: you will not be permitted to join a Vietnam Pathfinder Tour without travel insurance.

++ Personal First Aid Kit

We advise that all passengers bring along their own personal first aid kit. Below is a list of some recommended items:
Band Aids/Bandages, Laxatives, Upset stomach remedy, Anti-diarrhoea remedy, Panadol/Aspirin, Rehydration remedy, Antiseptic cream/powder, Sterile dressing, Any relevant course of medication such as contraceptive pills.
A complete Travellers Medical Pack can be purchased for approximately US$25 at most Vaccination Centres, Chemists and outdoor travel shops.
