River of the City, the CAI river or Mother river, starts about 60kms west of Nha Trang and flows down into the city. It is the witness of all changes of the city. Leave the hotel at 9:00 am for the pier. First, the boat will take you around the BONG village near the rivermouth. You’ll see some activities of fishermen, life on the river with mobile markets, filling stations, fish markets… you’ll also see the temple where fishermen worship the king of the water, the Ponagar Champs temple, the Cave pagoda. Then, you’ll go against the current of the river. Before dropping on an islet, you’ll see a ship building factory. Walking onto the islet and you’ll enjoy some fresh coconut here. Back to the boat and continue your trip along the river to the countryside. Getting to the shore, you’ll visit a 200-year-old traditional house; you’ll learn how Chinese culture affects to Vietnamese life. After enjoying some tropical fruit here, a horsecart will take you along the country roads with orchards. Stop by the handicraft village to discover the local traditional job, rush mat weaving and clay stove making. Finally, in a restaurant by the riverside, Vietnamese dishes are ready for your lunch. After lunch, boat take you back to the hotel.
