Its seashore length is 100km (with 72km of the sand-bank can use as seaside resort). Its continental shelf border on Truong Sa Islands where has 2 very important resources of petroleum and seafood. Its natural area is 1975.14km2 in 1975, population is 821.300 people in 2000, population density is 416 persons/km2.
